Netflix Roulette brought us our first “Nollywood” (Nigerian) movie, Mokalik. A well-off young teen is slacking off at school, and his father brings him to apprentice at a “mechanic’s village” for a day, to expose him to an unpleasant alternative. We were all fascinated by this work model that doesn’t exist in the U.S., but were the laid-back filmmaking approach and performances enough to hold our interest? (edited)
